Miao: May 31, 2019: Christians in a remote area of Arunachal Pradesh on May 31 organized a candle light prayer rally for the success of new council of minister of India.
The rally by people in and around Miao in Changlang district coincided with the Feast of the Visitation of Mother Mary to Elizabeth.
Bishop of George Palliparambil of Miao sent prayerful wishes to the new ministers and expressed the hope that the new team will work to build a more progressive, inclusive and a peaceful country.
Opening the prayer rally, the Salesian prelate, who is also the Social Communication chairman for Northeastern India, said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us lot of expectation with his message of Sabka Saath, Saba Vikas and Sabka Vishwas (Together with all, development for all, by winning everyone’s confidence). We hope he with his new team is able to achieve this goal and lead the nation on the path of peace, development and trust of all the people across the country.”
Taw Tebin, president of Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association, expressed happiness over the inclusion of Kiren Rijuju from Arunachal Pradesh in the council of minister. “Rijuju will represent all our voices in parliament and as independent Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs he would promote sports talents from North East India, particularly from Arunachal Pradesh,” he added.
Mungtang Mossang, APCA president of east Arunachal Pradesh, too expressed the hope in the new team of ministers. “We hope the promise of ‘acche din” (good days) becomes a reality during this second term of the Prime Minister with his new team of ministers,” he said.
The prayer rally that began from the Sacred Heart Church Neotan concluded at the Marian Grotto in the village. Similar prayer rallies were held across Arunachal Pradesh to conclude the May devotions to Mary.
