Warsaw, June 8: President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, paid a surprise visit to  Father Michał Łos on his 31st birthday, on June 7, in his room in the Military Hospital in Warsaw. The President accepted a blessing from the priest . The details of the meeting remain private.

Michał Łos was studying to become a Catholic priest. In late May he was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer. In order to allow him to become a priest, before his illness progresses too far, a special papal dispensation was needed.

Pope Francis granted permission to make such an exception. In May Michał Łos accepted monastic vows of the Sons of Divine Providence order. The next day he was ordained a priest by Bishop Marek Solarczyk from the Warszawa-Praga diocese. Two days later, in his hospital room Father Michał Łos celebrated his first Holy Mass.
