Dimapur, July 8, 2019: Some former Don Bosco members and trainees have formed a group named the Salesians in the Secular World (SSW) for Nagaland. The members of the Catholic institution met on July 6 for the first time at the Aida conference Hall in Dimapur to officially form.

“It is a new movement in the Salesian world (Dob Bosco) initiated in the southern states of India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bangalore and Hyderabad,” a press release from the organizers stated.

“It is a gathering of the ex-Salesians and aspirants who attended Salesian formation houses with a desire to follow Jesus in the Don Bosco way, but accepting God’s plan and responded to the lay vocation of leading family life in the world. SSW is a joyful and grateful witness to the love and formation that we have received from Don Bosco,” the press release explained. The members of the new group deliberated on matters concerning participation in the SSW national summit that is scheduled to be conducted in Bangalore in August this year.

Likewise, they discussed matters about participating in the welcoming of the rector major, the global head of the Don Bosco society, when he comes to visit Don Bosco institutions in Nagaland in September 2019, the press release stated.
