New Delhi, Aug. 28, 2019: The Orthodox Church will move Supreme Court against the Kerala government’s directive to submit its original constitution in the ongoing dispute case.
The Orthodox Church will move the apex court citing that the government’s directive amounted to gross contempt of court. Meanwhile, the Orthodox Church has replied to the government that its demand could not be entertained.
The Kerala government had on Monday issued a letter to the Orthodox Church asking its chief to present himself with the original Orthodox Church Constitution of 1934, if it wanted the government to implement the 2017 SC order.
The Orthodox Church has sent a letter to the government ahead of filing the contempt court petition at the SC. The letter clarifies that the Orthodox Church will not be able to submit the Orthodox Church Constitution of 1934.
The letter further added that the Orthodox Church chief will not present himself before the chief secretary. The Orthodox Church has sent the letter to the chief secretary.
