Kolkata, September 7, 2019: A Universal Peace Rally was organized at Kolkata to honor Mother Teresa’s 22nd death anniversary, by the Indian Karate Association with the co-operation of the All Faith Forum, St Teresa of Avila Church, Mother House and Kolkata Police.
The peace rally on September 5 began from Avila Church, Moula Ali to Mother House where an open prayer meeting was conducted. The rally was a brain child of M A Ali who started it23 years ago with the slogan “Please NO MORE WAR we want PEACE”.
He says peace is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time.
Ali is a karate coach and Sufi spiritual leader in Chistiya order and has been honored “The Hero of Gender Equality” award by the government of the United States of America.
Folk Singer Sanajit Mondal, released his album on Mother Teresa on the rally day in the presence of religious leaders such as Bishop P S P Raju ,Muni Mani Kumar, Arunjyoti Bhikku,Sardar Sukhnandan Singh Ahluwalia, Ayesha Noor, the karate champion, Ali, nuns, sportspersons and other citizens of Kolkata.
