Manila, Nov 14, 2019: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) has topped India’s top educational institution as it ranked higher in the latest world university ranking of a United Kingdom-based group.
The institute ranked 152th in the 2020 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, up 10 notches from 162nd in 2019.
Other institutes placed were IIT Delhi (182), Indian Institute of Science (184) IIT Madras (271), IIT Kharagpur (281), IIT Kanpur (291), IIT Roorkee (383), University of Delhi (474), IIT Guwahati (491)
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the world’s top university for the eighth consecutive year.
Stanford University and Harvard University came in second and third, while the University of Oxford and the California Institute of Technology round up the top five.
QS is a “global provider of specialist higher education and careers information and solutions.” It has published university rankings annually since 2004.
