Chandigarh, Jan 27, 2020: A 23-year-old man in Haryana was on January 27 sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a five-year-old girl.
The child was his employer’s daughter.
The girl, a resident of Palwal district, was kidnapped, raped and stabbed to death in June 2018 by Virender, who is also known as Bholu.
The man committed the crime after a heated argument with the girl’s father. To vent his anger, he kidnapped the child and took her home. He then stabbed her in the stomach and stuffed her body inside a wheat flour container.
The local court sentenced Virender’s mother, who helped him in the crime, to seven years imprisonment. It also fined her 5,000 rupees, the complainant’s lawyer Rajesh Singh Rawat said.
