Kannur, January 7, 2020: A member of the Missionaries of Charity was killed and her three relatives were wounded on January 7 when two cars collided in Kannur district of Kerala.
Sister Subhashi, who served in a convent in Mumbai, died on the spot. She was 72.
The wounded are the nun’s nephew Don Bosco, 55, his wife Shylamma, 47, and their son Shibin, 26. They have been admitted in Pariyaram Medical College. Their wounds are reportedly not serious.
Don Bosco had recently retired from the Delhi police.
The accident occurred around 4:30 am at Pallichal near Cherukunnu, 18 km north of Kannur town. They were traveling from Kottayam to Mangaluru while the other car was its own to Malappuram from Kasergod.
Sister Subhashi belonged to the Chamakalapurayadathil family in Anicad village of Kottayam district. She had come to Kerala only a few days ago.
