Chennai, March 2, 2020: A group of Sisters organized faith formation program for youth on the history of the early Church with group study, faith sharing, expo, and quiz, recently in Chennai and Bangalore.
The Salesian Sisters of Chennai Province had the Mega Expo on ‘Acts of the Apostles’ as a fruit of their in-depth study of the book of the New Testament throughout the academic year 2019-2020.
In the course of the year the Sisters read and reflected on the book of Acts of the Apostles personally and in small groups of the community.
“The Sisters were happy to share their faith experiences in groups once a month every three months,” said Superior of the Community Sr.Mary Dora who conducted a quiz programme for the Sisters and young girls in formation with questions sent by the Province Formation Coordinator.
At the termination of the academic year last month the Expo was organized at the Provincial level at Fatima School Kodambakkam, Chennai.
Each community presented very artistically and creatively the core message of the particular chapter assigned to them. The presentations were judged by an external judge and the best performing communities were awarded with prizes by the Salesian Provincial Sr. Nirmala Lazar.
Similarly, Expo was done at Bangalore Provincial House by the Province Sisters. The expo attracted Catholic students and teachers of Fatima Matriculation School, Kodambakkam and many Sisters of the Province who visited it and deepened their knowledge on Spirituality of St.Paul.
“These initiatives taken at the Province level enabled the Sisters to study the Scripture and to imbibe the spirit of St.Paul, the great apostle and pillar of the Church, such as ardent love for Jesus and passion to proclaim the Word of God that urged him to take a ‘U’ turn in his life and to suffer for Christ willingly,” commented Salesian Provincial Councillor for Formation Sr. Elisa Samala.
