New Delhi, April 25, 2020: The Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) has provided relief for 2,000 families through the distribution of dry ration kits that can last them for some 20 days.
“EFI is grateful to our members, partners and to everyone who came forward in supporting our call to care and provide generously for the poor, needy and marginalized in these challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic and lock-down,” EFI general secretary Reverend Vijayesh Lal said.
In cases where physical relief is not possible because of the lock-down restriction in movement, EFI provides unconditional cash support to the families, he said.
“So far we have been able to reach out to 5,200 people with ration kits/cash transfers,” Lal added.
Thanking donors for helping the fellowship to reach out people in need, Reverend Lal said, “There is much that still needs to be done and for that, we seek your continuous prayers and support. Together we can be super-spreaders of Hope.”
Founded in 1951, EFI is the national alliance that includes over 54 Protestant denominations for a total of 65,000 communities spread across India, as well as 200 charitable missionary agencies and organizations.
