New Delhi, April 7, 2020: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of the Conference of Catholic Bishops’ of India (CCBI) has begun a daily online quiz on faith for youth and others.
“The rationale of ‘ICYM Quiz’ is to use the lockdown time due to COVID-19 pandemic to engage anyone, particularly youth, in understanding faith, catechesis, and Bible through a quiz,” Jyotsna D’Souza, national president of ICYM, told Matters India.
It started on March 29 with the Gospel of Mark and will continue till April 14. If the lockdown is extended, in case, the quiz will go on, she added.
Each day a specific topic is taken so that it will engage participants in knowing more about the topics, said D’Souza.
So far, people are enthusiastic about it. The quiz is open to anyone since it is an online-based that has about 20 questions with multiple options. What one needs to do is just select one correct answer to complete the day’s quiz.
According to D’Souza quiz is primarily meant for Catholic or others too (if interested).
About 500 to 1000 people have participated daily so far.
At the end of the quiz, participants will be given prizes, according to organizers.
ICYM is the official parochial youth movement under CCBI. It functions at the grassroots in all Latin rite parishes throughout the country.
It was established by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) in 2000.
With the vision to promote young protagonists for the church and society, ICYM contributes to the formation of young Catholics in India based on gospel values.
