Darjeeling. May 24, 2020: The Salesians of Don Bosco South Asia launched their first news podcast on May 24 the World Communications Day and feast of Mary Help of Christians.

The podcast was launched simultaneously at Turin in Italy and at Nazareth Bhavan Salesian Novitiate at Dhajea, Darjeeling, on the occasion of the first profession of 13 new Salesians.

Father Ernest Rosario, Chennai-based South Asian Delegate for Boscom, complimented the Podcast Team and said, ”May this podcast service bring positive vibrations across our network and create enthusiasm to contribute news, create visibility for the Salesian mission, and be a testament to the silent revolution of love, sacrifice, and service that is taking place 24×7.”

Father Rosario added, “Kudos [to the team] for taking Don Bosco South Asia news and information sharing to the next level with the latest Salesian News Podcast service. There is no doubt that this platform will reach many more people in the days and months to come as it provides effortless updates of Salesian news and info amidst busy schedules.”

In Dhajea, principal of Salesian College Sonada/Siliguri Father George Thadathil launched the podcast at the Salesian novitiate.

In Turin, Salesian South Asia Regional Councillor Father Biju Michael launched the podcast in front of both current and former Salesian Provincials of Kolkata province held up due to lockdown in Italy.

The 12 minute episode, the first of the series, carries seven major news stories of the South Asia Salesians published in Don Bosco India website.

The podcast anchored by Radio Journalist RJ Bryan of Radio Salesian 90.8 FM is broadcast every Monday at 9.00 am on Radio Salesian 90.8 FM as well as on Radio Salesian web radio on “Listen2MyRadio” App.

The podcast is also available on www.donboscoindia.org.
