New Delhi, Aug 22, 2020: A neo-Christian group in New Delhi on August 21 launched a project to supply free oxygen to the poor and needy suffering from Covid-19.
The Fellowship of Bethesda Christian Church, the main organization behind the initiative, collaborates with Bethesda Christian Trust Association and All India Christian Congress for the new mission.
Bishop Mohan Lal, founder president of the Bethesda Christian Trust Association (Fellowship and Council of Bethesda Christian Church), opened the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Lal noted that thousands of people have died due to the Covid-19. One dire need for all of them was oxygen during these crucial times. The free oxygen cylinder support mission is one such service for vulnerable people.
At the launch, the Church has made about 50 free oxygen cylinders available with the help of donors.
The need of the hour is oxygen cylinders in hospitals that are overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients, says James Massey, general secretary of All India Christian Congress. According to him, the free oxygen support for the poor will continue until the pandemic lasts.
“We have launched Bethesda free oxygen support to save and protect the lives of poor people of India from Covid-19,” Massey told Matters India.
Massey also wants individuals, NGOs and others to continue food distribution they have been doing since India imposed a nationwide lockdown from the midnight to March 24.
“God will fulfill all needs for this project. We are praying to God as nothing is impossible for Him and can save and protect the lives of people. It is our little effort to save the life of people,” he added.
