Bengaluru, August 31, 2020: A scripture scholar in Bengaluru, southern India, plans to start a weekly online Bible study on the last book of the Bible – The Revelation.

Salesian Father Shabu Joseph, the presented of the program, says the Coronavirus pandemic has made people wonder if the year 2020 has brought the world nearer to its end.

“Immediately our thoughts turn to the Book of Revelation for answers. We may have heard many talking about the Book of Revelation as the Book of our times. Many predictions on the future these days have been made on it,” explains the priest, who teaches Sacred Scripture at Bengaluru’s Kristu Jyoti College, aggregated to the Rome-based Pontifical Salesian University

“The question is what was the mind of the author who wrote the book of Revelation? How do we actually interpret what is written?” added the priest, who has a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute and a doctorate in Biblical Theology from St Thomas Aquinas University, both based in Rome.

The Bible series is an initiative of Aflame Ministries, Bengaluru.

Father Joseph plans to start the Zoom classes from September 4. They will be held from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

The classes will also be Live Streamed on Aflame Youtube Channel. www.youtube.com/aflameministries.

Participants who register on www.cutt.ly/bibrev2020 and attend the sessions will be awarded e-Certificates at the end of the course.

“We invite you to delve deeply into this amazing book of the Bible in our Biblical theology course on the Book of Revelation,” Father Joseph says.

The Aflame Ministries from Kristu Jyoti College was started in 2016. It takes care of the spiritual needs of people through on-line Masses and other popular devotions such as Rosary Service, Stations of the Cross, and other youth ministry events.
