Mumbai, September 11, 2020: A priest from the Archdiocese of Bombay has been felicitated by the Governor of Maharashtra for his service during the coronavirus pandemic.

Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari honored Father Fitzgerald Fernandes at Raj Bhavan at the Covid Warriors Ceremony on September 11.

He is the rector of the Diocesan Pastoral in Bandra of Archdiocese of Bombay.

The priest was acknowledged for his tremendous hard work behind the scenes of reaching out to needy families and opening doors to medical attendants to stay at close quarters to the Hospitals during the ongoing pandemic.

“We congratulate Father Fernandes on being felicitated by the Governor at the COVID Warriors Ceremony at Raj Bhavan,” said a note from Archdiocese of Bombay.

“God bless him for his selfless efforts in reaching out to those in need during the pandemic,” it added.

“It is truly proud of the work that Father Fernandes does. It is always so unassumingly and without making a noise about it,” said Elaine D’Souza of Archdiocese of Bombay.
