Lucknow: Father Arnold Rebello, a Capuchin, on October 9 died of COVID-19. He was 90.

The burial took place at noon the same day as per government rules at St Fidelis Ashram Cemetery, Lucknow with very limited Capuchin Friars, said Father Joseph Prasad Pinto, a fellow Capuchin.

Rebello was the brother of late Father Eugene Rebello, Capuchin and late Jesuit Father Francis Rebello.

The deceased had been a missionary in North India all along and offered his services in various capacities especially as a teacher, principal, parish priest, formator of seminarians, retreat preacher, confessor and spiritual director, added Father Pinto.

Rebello was intelligent, austere, prayerful, simple and lover of the poor, said Pinto.
