New Delhi: People above 60 years of age and those over 45 with comorbidities will be given Covid-19 vaccination from March 1, the federal government announced February 24.

After a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, said that 100 million people would be vaccinated in this category and the vaccine would be given free of cost across 10,000 government and at more than 20,000 private centers.

Meanwhile Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said most federal ministers would want to pay to get themselves vaccinated against Covid-19.

His comments came after the government announced free vaccination for those above 60 and those over 45 with comorbidities from March 1.
Asked whether ministers and the prime minister, who would be in the category of those who can take the vaccination, will get inoculated, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, at a post-Cabinet media briefing, said those who want to take the vaccination will take it at the place of their choosing from March 1.

Meanwhile the Delhi state government has imposed travel restrictions for those coming from Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. They will have to show a negative RT-PCR test report from February 27 to March 15.
