Bhopal: Archbishop Leo Cornelio of Bhopal on August 3 opened a new campus of the Bhopal School of Social Sciences that is expected to meet the challenges in changing professional education.

The new sprawling campus – Institute of Advanced Studies — is set up at Ashaniketan Campus, Arera Colony in Bhopal, capital of the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

It is endowed with world-class infrastructure to provide the best opportunities for personal and professional growth of students who aspire for careers in the field of business administration, Archbishop Cornelio said at the inaugural function.

The campus aims to respond to significant changes in the educational system over the years, “echoing the need for professional education in emerging sectors,” the Divine World prelate added.

The Archdiocese of Bhopal felt the need for a change in the traditional education system and so this new campus came to exist to play a pivotal role in professional education” he explained.

The archbishop predicts the new institute will emerge as a top professional management institution in central India and will play a unique role in catering to the contemporary needs of the students.

Father P J John, the principal of the institute, while welcoming the first batch of Master in Business Administration, said, “It is an excellent opportunity for the young aspirants to seek admission in Master of Business Administration from the academic year 2021-22.

The learning resources are also available round the clock for regular interfaces, guest lectures, presentations, conferences, cultural events and other academic activities, the principal said.

A large number of priests and guests attended the inauguration and blessing of the campus.

  1. I fail to understand how priests trained in theology and philosophy have now become experts in business administration, unless of course they believe that their multiple institutions are business endeavours, not service oriented.
