Siliguri, Dec 18, 2021: The Salesian College in North Bengal celebrated the diversity of India through a variety of programs including a popular fashion show.
Salesian College Siliguri organized the December 16- 17 events christened Exsurge 2021 (Arise and take flight) launched in 2009 when Salesian College Sonada established started its Siliguri campus.
Despite the pandemic, students participated in 20 events. including, bands, dancing, painting, collage, sketching, doodling, poetry, standup comedy, photography and short film making.
“It is our way of affirming the diverse culture of India represented by the student community,” says mentor of fashion show Abhijit Chhetri, an alumnus of the college.
For the fashion show, 30 students from 20 departments dressed in various ethnic outfits and took the runway ramp walk to specially choreographed music.
Principal of Salesian College Father George Thadathil congratulated the students for their unique celebration of India’s diversity.
Father Thadathil, who is also president of All India Association of Christian Higher Education, complimented the fashion choreographer Chhetri for spending time mentoring young talents.
