Aluva, April 22, 2022: Father Kuriakose Kachiramattom, the founder director of the nationally famous Christian music troupe – Angel Voice Gospel Music Group — died April 22. He was 79.

The death occurred in the afternoon at Lissie Hospital in Ernakulam, Kochi.

Father Kachiramattom belonged to Kothamangalam Syro-Malabar Eparchy.

Father Francis Keeranpara, the diocesan spokesperson, told Matters India the funeral will be held April 25 at Muvattupuzha Town parish.

“He dedicated his life for music and there are hundreds of well-known musicians trained by him,” Father Keeranpara said.

Father Kachiramattom always considered his primary role was that of a parish priest. But he also found time to manage Angel Voice, a music ministry.

He was ordained a priest on December 17, 1967, by Bishop Mathew Pothanamuzhi of Kothamangalam.

After retirement at 75, he was resting at the priests’ home.

Father Keeranpara said Father Kachiramattom dedicated his entire life for divine music and founded Angel Voice, a musical group that eventually became a nationally famous troupe in Christian music.

A music director, singer and lyrics writer, Fr. Kachiramattom was always present in troupe performances and was the opening singer.

He is survived by four brothers and five sisters.
