Palakkad, May 17, 2022: On Ramzan day this year, Sachin,a resident of Pothukallel in Kerala’s Palakkad district, was surprised to receive an overseas phone call. The caller introduced himself as Abukutty from Velumbiampadath, Nilambur, in Palakkad.
After initial pleasantries Abukutty asked Sachin to to to his house on the same day. “Try to be there by 2 pm. Please bring your wife also,” the Muslim man told Sachin, a Hindu.
Sachin and his wife Bhavya reached Abukutty’s house where the NRI’s family members received them with warmth. After celebrating the feast and sharing sweets with the family, the couple got up to leave.
Then the Muslim family told the couple, “There is a surprise for you.”
Sachin and Bhavya were surprised. The family brought a small box and opened it. Handing over a gold chain to Bhavya, Abukutty’s elder brother said, “This is for you.”
Bhavya stood spellbound looking at the chain. It was the same chain with her mangal sutra that she had donated to a charity a few days ago.
When Abukutty and his three brothers heard about Bhavya’s sacrifice, they were touched and wanted to reward her.
They bought the same chain from the charity association and waited for an occasion to return it to Bhavya.
Bhavya and Sachin had donated the chain for Mujeeb Rahman, a 49-year-old Muslim who underwent a liver transplant surgery that cost 3.4 million rupees.
God rewards people’s good deed in his own way.
