Patna, Aug 17, 2022: A group of Small Christian Communities (SCCs) animators August 17 decided to form media teams in Jharkhand and Bengal regions.
The decision was taken on the first day of an eight-day workshop on media communication held at Atma Darshan, Jesuit retreat Centre in Patna, capital of Bihar state.
As many as 18 animators from ten dioceses of the regions are attending the workshop. Professors from St. Xavier’s College of Communication, Patna, facilitate the sessions.
Holy Cross Sister Christin, a media trainer of SCCs, organized the August 17-24 workshop. The sessions were inaugurated with words of appreciation and welcome by Atma Darsha director Jesuit Father Alwyn Vaz.
The participants will learn script writing, preparing meaningful PowerPoint, video shooting and editing videos for animation programs, said Sister Christin. “Through this training, we shall form two media teams on SCCs in Bengal and Jharkhand,” she said when asked about the purpose of the workshop.
Media can entertain and educate people simultaneously, said Frank Krishna, head of the Communication Department of St. Xavier’s College. Media personnel need to be creative and sensitive, added Krishna while elaborating the purpose of the workshop.
“The first day sessions enabled me to understand the importance of voice and photographs, said Suman Xalxo from Jalpaiguri diocese.
Anu Tudu, a youth from Dumka diocese said he learned how to make effective PowerPoint.
This training will help me to prepare small videos for teaching villagers, said Father Sanjeeb Dungdung of Simdega diocese in Jharkhand.
