Harmu, Sept 17, 2022: A Missionaries of Charity Brother was killed and five others were seriously wounded when their vehicle hit against a tree at Harmu near Ranchi, capital of the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand.

The Brothers of the congregation founded by Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata had gone to Harmu for a renewal program.

After the program, they went to Hundru Falls, a picnic spot, for an outing.

The accident occurred September 15 when they were returning to Ranchi in two vehicles.

The brakes of one of the vehicles failed and it hit a tree on the roadside.

All six Brothers in the vehicle were seriously injured. One of them Brother Sujeet Kindo, 45, died. Another Brother is critical.

Brother Benjamin who was driving the vehicle has several fractures.

The funeral of Brother Kindo is scheduled for September 18.
