Shillong, Oct 22, 2022: The centenary celebrations of the arrival of the Salesian Congregation in northeastern India will conclude on October 30 with a solemn Mass presided over by Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli.

The 10 am Mass will be held at Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians in Laitumkhrah, a suburb of Shillong, capital of Meghalaya state.

Present on the occasion will be Father Ángel Fernández Artime, rector major of the Salesians, Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh of Shillong told reporters on October 20.

The Mass will be followed by another program at 2 pm.

The archbishop said that archbishops, bishops, priest and the religious from across the world who had earlier served the Church in northeastern India will attend the concluding program. He requested all priests, religious faithful, past pupils, friends and well-wishers to attend the program.

The archbishop also said that the Church will resume the annual Eucharistic procession November 13 after a gap of two years.
