Sonada:July 1, 2023 — First community radio of Darjeeling bagged National Award for Entertainment and Development Excellence along with awards for Industry giants.
On receiving the award, Director of Salesian Radio 90.8 FM, Father C. M. Paul, said, “This award has come to us solely due to the sincere efforts of Radio Salesian RJs, both past and present. Cheers to TEAM Radio Salesian!”
Other award categories included Environmental Management, Environmental Protection, Safety Standards; Women Empowerment, HR Excellence, CSR Excellence, Energy Conservation; Research; Music, Singing; and so on.
Lucknow based Green Maple Foundation conferred the prestigious Green Maple Foundation (GMF) Green Feather Awards – 2023 on July 1 in Darjeeling.
Other winners included NTPC, Tata, Jindal, Dalmia, Vardhman Fabric, CESE, DB Power, MP Power Generation Company Ltd., Makeen Energy, Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd., DCM Shriram, JSW, Birla, Godrej, Hindustan Petroleum, RP Sanjeev Goenka Group, Dhariwal Infrastructures Ltd., L&T, HMI, and Aditya Birla among others.
Guests of honour at the event included Director of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Honourable Group Captain Jai Kishan, Legendary Singer and Celebrity from Nepali Music Industry Mrs. Hira Rasaily, and Chairman of Darjeeling Municipality Honourable Sh. Dipen Thakuri.
Managing Director of GMF Group Mr. Ashutosh Verma personally welcomed the Chief Guests and award winners.
Green Maple Foundation is a non-profit organization, registered by the People of Indian Origin.
One of the aims of this organizations is to create awareness by organizing seminars and award ceremonies, aimed at recognizing and honouring individuals and organizations / associations and institutions for their outstanding contribution in the field of Economy, Environment and Social development.
Radio Salesian established in 2016 as first college based community radio of North Bengal and entire northeast India operates out of 85 year old Salesian College (Autonomous) Sonada Darjeeling.
