Jaigaon, August 13, 2023: St. Anthony’s School, managed by the Salesian Sisters at Jaigaon on the Bhutan border, partnered with International STEAM Research to conduct the DaVinci Innovation Camp for teachers and students.
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) is an educational approach that incorporates hands-on-model in learning science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
International STEAM Research founder-director Don Bosco Kolkata alumnus George Panicker facilitated the three-day camp.
“The camp gives an insight into the much-needed paradigm shift from traditional education philosophy, based on standardised test scores, to a modern ideal which focuses on valuing the learning process as much as the results,” Panicker said.
Through the camp, Panicker explains, “both students and teachers got to understand the new teaching and learning ecosystem model for Experiential Learning, aligned to National Education Policy-2020.”
The New Education Policy promotes invention literacy through the 4Cs of the 21st Century, namely Critical Thinking, Communication, Creativity and Collaboration and develops students as Future-Ready Problem Solvers.
A total of 200 students and teachers attended the camp.
Several schools across India are engaged in ISR teaching and learning methods of mastering trends of emerging technologies.
