Bangalore, November 20, 2023: The South Asia BOSCOM General Body Assembly meeting held in Don Bosco Provincial House Bangalore honoured two Salesian media trailblazers, Fr C.M. Paul and Fr Michael Makri on November 19, 2023.
Marking 30th year of Salesian Communication body, Boscom South Asia delegate Fr Ernest Rosario, felicitated BOSCOM founder member Fr. C. M. Paul with a shawl and crystal plaque.
“When you stand up and contribute, you may be silenced. But that does not mean it’s over. The providence will work if your effort is honest and clear. Use our failures as stepping stones to success,” said former editor of The Herald Kolkata Fr Paul on being honoured.
Vice Principal of Salesian College (Autonomous) Siliguri Fr Paul’s illustrious journey includes being the first non-Italian director of the Salesian News Agency in Rome, where he steered for three years (1992-1995), overseeing 20 bureaus worldwide.
A visionary in media education, Fr Paul is the founder, and former Head of the Department of Journalism at Don Bosco University Guwahati and Salesian College Sonada.
He is the founder director of Radio Salesian 90.8 FM, and Salesian TV (YouTube) in Salesian College (Autonomous) Sonada, and producer of popular weekly shows ‘Salesian News Asia Pacific’ since 24th May 2020 as well as ‘Campus This Week’ since 29th March 2021.
Boscom delegate from Mumbai, Fr Brian Moras felicitated Fr Michael Makri for his contributions to the Salesian communication. Fr Makri is Founder Director, and Editor-in-chief of Don Bosco Media Network TV based in Shillong.
