Siliguri, November 9 2023 : In the face of wars, violence, death and destruction prevailing in the region and across the world, a college in north Bengal dedicated its two-day inter college mega music and cultural fest for global peace and harmony.

Salesian College Siliguri hosted the inter college cultural and music fest ‘Innovision’, for the first time as autonomous college, on November 8 – 9, 2023.

Interim Vice Chancellor of North Bengal University Shri C. M. Ravindran, IPS (Retd.) gracing the event lauded students and faculty for the noble thought of dedicating the fest to the cause of peace and harmony.

Speaking at the inaugural function, principal of Salesian College Fr. Babu Joseph devoted a moment of silent prayer for victims of flood in neighbouring state of Sikkim, earthquake victims in neigbouring country Nepal, violence hit people of Manipur state, victims of Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine wars.

The 10th edition of Innovision had 10 colleges participating in 9 events. First day witnessed competitions in Solo singing, Rap, Painting, Sketching, Rangoli and Band. Second day had solo dance, group dance, non-thematic dance and fashion show on theme ‘Nature Vs Technology’.

First day concluded with Darjeeling based youth band Obsession performing and, second day featured RJ Shelly from Dubai.

Salesian College, a Don Bosco institution, with campuses in Sonada and Siliguri established in Shillong in 1933, is the first Autonomous college of North Bengal.
