Siliguri, June 30, 2025 – The Annual School Personnel Meet of Salesian Province of Calcutta concluded with resounding success at Don Bosco School, Siliguri, on June 29.
The June 28–29, event brought together some 25 school personnel from across the province spread out in Bengal, Sikkim and parts of Bihar providing a vibrant space to renew their commitment to the Salesian educational mission. Salesian Principals of the province from Bangladesh and Nepal were not present.
The meet marked the official launch of the revised School Personnel Policy book by Fr. Joseph Pauria, Provincial of Cacutta Province, published by Salesian College Publications. “This policy is not just a document—it is a living expression of our shared values and vision,” said Fr. Pauria, as he formally released the volume. “Let it guide us in becoming credible witnesses to the Salesian Charism in our institutions.”
Following the book launch, participants engaged in lively group discussions to better understand and align with the updated policies. Fr. Siby Vadakel, Inspector of Schools, was lauded for his dedication in revising the manual. “This edition reflects the collective wisdom and lived realities of our schools—it’s a step towards greater unity and accountability,” he remarked.
Day two featured an energizing workshop on Transformational Leadership, facilitated by acclaimed educator and wellness coach Shirish P. Sebastian. Recognized globally for his contributions to inclusive education and authorship of AYURJYOTHI, Sebastian inspired the participants with practical insights. “Leadership begins when we move from being task-driven to being purpose-led,” he said. “Educators must model the transformation they wish to see.”
The session included interactive group activities and strategic planning, fostering a strong spirit of collaboration. Fr. K.V. Mathew principal of Kalyani school said, “This experience has empowered me to lead with both heart and vision—it’s not just about managing a school, but about shaping lives.”
Reflecting on the two-day meet, a senior delegate and host Fr V.C. Jose said, “We return to our schools recharged—with clarity of purpose, shared wisdom, and a deeper sense of mission.”
More than a gathering, the meet served as a reaffirmation of the Salesian ethos—anchored in faith, propelled by teamwork, and inspired by transformational leadership.
