Guwahati, July 31, 2025 — A pioneering leadership formation program, inspired by Harvard University’s pedagogical models and IAS training frameworks, concluded its intensive and immersive 18-day sessions across multiple venues in India.

Held from July 16 to 30, the initiative was curated by LEAD Academy Founder Harvard graduate Fr V. M. Thomas in collaboration with LEAD Co-Founder and CEO of Marrian Foundation Bangalore Mr. John Benedict.The two-phase program has the vision of equipping mid-level church leaders and educators with resilient, purpose-driven leadership skills rooted in service, reflection, and spiritual depth.

The first phase unfolded across premier locations including Don Bosco Institute (DBI) Guwahati, SILOAM Bible Valley Barapani Meghalaya, Provincial House Shillong, Diphu Pastoral Centre, DB IDL Dimapur, and Kohima Cathedral.

The program brought together a distinguished faculty comprising Archbishop John Moolachira, Archbishop Emeritus Menamparampil—himself a Nobel Laureate nominee, Bishop P.K. George of Miao, Mr. Conrad Saldanha from Mumbai, Prof. Henry Rosario from Chennai, Prof. Jose Kuruvichira, Prof. Edmund Gomes, Salesian Provincials Kuricheal of Guwahati and Pampackal of Dimapur, Fransalian Provincial Dr. Sabu Francis, several veteran Jesuits and other eminent persons. Their collective expertise, drawn from military and police academies, theological institutions, and secular universities, created a rich tapestry of learning and mentorship.

Participants were immersed in a curriculum that blended rigorous academic sessions with reflective journaling, exposure visits to institutions serving the disabled, and deep spiritual engagement.

The program’s structure encouraged internalization and personal growth, fostering a supportive environment where participants could explore their leadership potential with honesty and courage.

The impact of the Lead Academy experience was deeply transformative. Many participants spoke of newfound confidence, clarity of purpose, and a renewed commitment to servant leadership. One participant shared, “The academy helped me discover the leader within—rooted in purpose and guided by values.” Another reflected, “I return with a heart full of gratitude and a deep desire to make a positive impact in the world.” The sessions at SILOAM Bible Valley were particularly noted for deepening spiritual insight and reinforcing the call to lead with faith, love, and courage.

From mastering goal-setting and time management to understanding diverse leadership styles and the power of networking, the program emphasized holistic development. It encouraged participants to embrace leadership not merely as a role but as a vocation—one that demands resilience, compassion, and a commitment to justice.
