Ghaziabad, April 26, 2026: Academicians, media professionals, and spiritual leaders gathered in Ghaziabad to explore journalism’s constructive role in nation‑building, urging reporting that moves beyond problems to spotlight pathways for peace and development.
NISCORT Media College, in partnership with the Brahma Kumaris, convened the Fourth National Media Conference 2026 on April 25, urging journalists and scholars to embrace “solution-based journalism” as a constructive tool for nation-building.
The gathering, themed “Solution Based Media for a Prosperous Bharat,” brought together academicians, media professionals, and spiritual leaders to explore how reporting can move beyond problem-focused narratives to highlight pathways for peace, development, and social progress.
Bishop Rayarala Vijaya Kumar of Srikakulam, Chairman of NISCORT, the Catholic Church’s professional media training college for journalism and mass communication studies, underscored the ethical responsibility of journalists.
“Solution based journalism offers a balanced perspective of realism with hope, and encourages media personnel to aim for critical thinking and accuracy,” he said. He reminded students and researchers of their duty to safeguard Constitutional values while contributing to national development.
BK Sushant, National Coordinator of the Brahma Kumaris Media Wing, linked the decline of human values to the challenges facing society. “In such a situation Solution Based Media with the spirit of compassion towards all fellow beings can play a vital role,” he noted.
Father Robinson Rodrigues, Director of NISCORT, emphasized the global relevance of the approach. “Today when the whole world is torn apart by hatred, war, and suspicion Solution Based Journalism can bridge the gaps and play a major role in establishing peace,” he said.
The conference featured two sessions with 15 research paper presentations by scholars and journalists. Topics included ethical reporting practices, digital media trends, and the impact of solution-oriented storytelling on communities.
Ritu Dubey Tiwari, Principal of NISCORT, said the conference aimed to bridge academic insight and industry practice while drawing on spiritual perspectives. She stressed that value-based journalism could strengthen India’s democratic fabric and contribute to building a more prosperous nation.
By promoting dialogue, ethical responsibility, and compassion, the conference highlighted the potential of solution-based journalism to reshape media narratives and foster a more hopeful and inclusive society.
