Miao, October 9, 2026: Amid growing conflicts and tensions in different parts of the world, the Diocese of Miao came together in prayer on Tuesday evening to seek peace through an online Rosary organised on the occasion of the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

Representatives of various groups within the Diocese—including youth, priests, women religious, men and women—joined the virtual prayer, united in their common intention for peace in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, the region and the world.

A total of 42 participants took part in the online Rosary, offering their prayers for peace, the Church, families, young people, priests and religious, bishops, and the unborn.

Organizing the prayer, Salesian Bishop George Pallipparambil of Miao, reminded the participants of the spiritual power of the Rosary in the face of evil and conflict.

“The Rosary is our powerful weapon against the evil forces. Let us not pray the Rosary just today, but every day, and pray as many Rosaries as possible, particularly during this month of the Rosary,” the Bishop said.

Representing the women group of the Diocese, Mrs. Monica Lowang recalled the historic Battle of Lepanto, traditionally attributed to the intercession of Our Lady through the praying of the Rosary. She encouraged the faithful to pray the Rosary faithfully for peace in Manipur and throughout the world.

The virtual prayer was enriched by the melodious singing of the seminarians in Miao, led by Fr. Barnabas, the Rector, giving the online gathering a strong sense of prayerful community despite the physical distance between the participants.

Representing the men group of the Diocese, Mungtang Mossang offered prayers for unborn children, asking that they may be brought safely into a peaceful world and that people may increasingly recognise and uphold the dignity of every human life.

The Women Religious were represented by Salesian Sister Mary Kolom, who prayed particularly for all missionaries working in the Diocese, the bishops, priests and women religious, as well as families.

Theresa Wangsu, Regional Youth Executive Member from the Diocese of Miao, led the prayer for young people, especially those who have gone astray. She prayed that, through the intercession and maternal guidance of Mother Mary, they may return to the Church and rediscover their path towards Christ.

Despite poor network connectivity in some areas, the participants remained connected in prayer until the conclusion of the Rosary, reflecting their shared desire to stand together in faith and prayer for peace.

In his concluding remarks, Auxiliary Bishop Dennis Panipitchai of Miao, expressed his gratitude to all the participants for setting aside their work and responsibilities to come together in prayer.

He invited the faithful to continue praying for peace not only in the world, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, but also within every family and within the human heart.

“The Rosary is our powerful weapon to defeat the evil one. The real purpose of the Rosary is to bring peace into the struggles of our hearts,” Bishop Dennis said.

Echoing the teaching of St. John Paul II, the Auxiliary Bishop further described the Rosary as a school of discipleship and contemplation.

“The Rosary is a School of Mary—a school in which Mary teaches us to contemplate Jesus. When we pray the Rosary, we are spending time with Jesus, together with Mary,” he said.

The online Rosary was organized by the Commission for Evangelization of the Diocese of Miao as a spiritual initiative to mark the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
