New Delhi: Delhi and surrounding areas experienced mild tremor early on Saturday.
The tremors were felt around 1:40 am on October 10 for a few seconds.
Many people posted on Twitter soon after the tremors.
Debleena Guin, who lives in the Lajpat Nagar area of central New Delhi, told Matters India that she experienced the tremor quite clearly. She said she was reading a book on bed when she felt the place shaking.
K Archana, who lives in East Delhi, said she was about to sleep when her bed started shaking.
There have been no reports of any damage so far, ndtv.com reported.
“Just checked from Emergency operation center of Delhi as well as Police control room. No damage has been reported so far #Earthquake,” Deputy Commissioner of Police North Delhi Madhur Verma tweeted.
Many people too posted on Twitter soon after the tremors.
G P Singh, another Delhi resident, tweeted that he felt an earthquake with some loud sound coming far away.
Another Twitteratti named kirtti, living in Noida, too said the earthquake was felt in that satellite town of Delhi.
