Kochi: The UDF government’s liquor policy will reflect in the upcoming assembly elections, said Mar Sebastian Adayanthrathu, Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly.
“The people will respond by recognizing the goodwill in the liquor policy. Those who love society want those who brought in the present liquor policy to continue. The LDF move to go back to the earlier liquor policy from the present one is cultureless action,” he said.
Adayanthrathu said that the Church does not have any stand on the selection of candidate for the Angamali seat.
“The church will not demand that a particular candidate should contest from Angamali. The society, which includes the faithful, will decide who will decide who will contest from the seat. It is not individuals, but the policy of political parties that matters,” Adayanthrathu said.
