Patna: A two-day National Seminar organized at St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology ended April 3 with the presentation of over 80 papers by delegates from all over the country.
The seminar brought together scholars from varied streams like social sciences, literature, management, media, science and technology. They exchanged views and provided insights which led to emergence of newer and fresher perspectives on the seminar theme – “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakum- Reconceptualising Interconnections and Innovations.’’
The valedictory session began with an organizer’s address by Principal Jesuit Father T. Nishaant. He acknowledged the contribution of the delegates to make the seminar successful.
The Vice-Chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University Arun Kumar Agarwal was the chief guest for the session. In his address, he stressed on the role of technology in bringing people together.
Saurav Das Thakur, Asst. Professor, Shanti Niketan and Purnendu Shanker, Associate Professor, Dept. of English, S U College, Hilsa shared their views on behalf of the delegates.
The keynote speaker Jesuit Father Rudolph C. Heredia said education should lead to creativity and critical thinking and not be limited to exams.
Earlier in the day, five papers were presented on the theme of “Environment, Ecology and Education” chaired by Fr Nishaant and seven papers were presented on the theme of “Technology -Information, Communication and Commerce” chaired by Md. Shams Raza, Program In- charge, XCCS-IGNOU, Patna.
On the theme of “Politics and Economics”, seven papers were presented chaired by Nandini Mehta and five papers were presented on “Ethics, Governance and Public Policy” chaired byManoj Mishra. Eight papers were presented on the theme “Harmonious Society- Discussion, Deliberation and Assimilation” chaired by Hansa Gautam.
Students of different colleges also presented six papers on the theme “Voice of the next generation.”
