Vijayawada : Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu says the state government would provide opportunities to Dalit Christians on par with Schedule Castes.
Speaking at a meeting of 17th annual Christian conference here on Wednesday, the Minister said that the Dalit Christians in the state should not worry about losing welfare schemes. The government would provide all facilities to Dalit Christians on par with SCs and appeals made by them would be considered by the government, he assured.
He also said that the issue of providing a Christian burial ground in the city would be solved soon. Mayor Koneru Sridhar said that the municipal corporation would take up the long pending issue of allotting land for Christian burial ground and provide required facilities.
Jai Andhra JAC leader Jaibabu, Job Sudharsan and representative of various Christian organisations were present.
