Patna — An inter-department Face painting competition was organised on Tuesday jointly by St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology.
The competition was based on the college annual theme “Healthy Youth, Wealthy Nation”.
Colourful faces which were beyond recognition were a delight for the students and teachers alike.
One could hear peals of laughter even though the message that the student teams tried to give were serious in nature.
Among the winners, on the first position were BBA 3rd semester students Vaishnavi, Raima, Kritika and BA 2nd year students Alisha, Justin and Tripti; on the second position were BCP 5th semester students Sonika, Puja and Afsar and on the third position were BMC 3rd semester students Ayushi, Amita, Mayank and BA 2nd year students Anuj, Ankita and Arti.
21 groups from all the departments participated in the competition and showed their creativity using the face as their canvas.
Each group had three participants. They used fabric, poster, water and organic colors to paint the faces. The students showed the current issues of health like habit of eating junk food, smoking apart from yoga postures in their face paintings.
“Painting is an entertaining activity and a great way to convey messages without words and is very appealing to the youth,” said Controller of Examination Father (Dr) Raymond Cherubim S.J.
