Bengaluru: A pair of donkeys was married at Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park on Tuesday as a mark of respect for the love the two animals share and to encourage people to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
President of Kannada Chalavali Party and former MLA Vatal Nagraj, known for his weird protests, performed the marriage ceremony. The bride donkey Kempa and the groom donkey Kempi were decked and brought on a platform in Cubbon Park.
Nagraj’s team showered red roses to the lovers during the ceremony.
The former MLA also felicitated the couple by touching their feet, joining hands to them and even kissing them.
He also urged both central and state governments on the occasion to provide protection to the young couple and the legislation should bring law in this regard.
