New Delhi–All India Association of Catholic Schools (AINACS) has decided to confer national awards to principals and teachers for their contribution to integrated and inclusive education in Catholic schools.
“AINACS is planning to organise the 50th National Convention at Delhi during the Dussehera holidays. To grace the occasion, the executive committee has decided to give excellence award to the principals and teachers who are promoting integrated and inclusive education in our school,” said Dr Brother Thomas Thanickal, SG, national general secretary, AINACS.
AINACS, a registered body with the Government of India, has 16,000 Catholic institutions in the country.
Some of the criteria for nomination and selection include general reputation of the candidate, commitment to one’s vocation beyond the call of the duty, academic acumen and upgrading through participation in orientation programme/refresher courses/workshops; active participation in life and activities of school at large, high degree of social awareness with special reference to the needs of children, creativity and innovation in teaching practices.
More importantly, teachers with at least 15 years of regular teaching experience and principals/headmistress with at least 20 years of regular teaching experiences will be eligible for the award.
Teachers with disabilities working in regular schools or special teachers or trained general teachers who have done outstanding work for integrated inclusive education in schools may be considered for the ‘special’ award.
The last date to submit application is May 31, said Brother Thanickal.
