Bangalore, November 6, 2019: Sneha Care Home, managed by Camillian Fathers would organize the ninth edition of Sneha Run 2019 next month.
Sneha Run, an initiative of Sneha Care Home, Bangalore, is organized in support of children living with HIV. It is an annual event and so this year is the ninth edition of the run, said Father Biju Joseph, a Camillian priest.
The order of the ministers of infirm, more usually known as the Camillians was found by an extraordinary man named Camillus. His ceaseless passion to serve all type of sick brethren in times widespread epidemic, and contagious diseases derived as the reason and model of health care to every Camillian.
This 5K RUN is being held on December 1, the World AIDs Awareness Day 2019 and the proceeds from the event will go to support the children living with HIV in Sneha Care Home, Bangalore, he said.
Sneha Care Home is a residential facility for neglected and orphaned children living with HIV. Many among the 300+ children at this and other related centers of Sneha Care Trust have participated in this event year after year.
One among them has participated in several international running events encouraged by the support and enthusiasm of the runners who come and support this initiative.
The event is to create awareness about fitness and HIV/AIDs among the local population as well as among family, friends, and people.
“By participating in this event, people also liven up the lives of these disadvantaged children. Additionally, this annual event enables us to reach out to the community for supporting us in providing livelihood for these children,” said Father Joseph.
