Manila, Nov 28, 2019: A Pentecostal church in the Philippines is building the world’s biggest arena which could accommodate up to 70,000 people.
Being built with US$25 million, the KJC King Dome’s construction is 70 percent complete as of November 2019 and hoped to be finished in 2022. The groundbreaking took place on September 3, 2012, and still under construction.
At present, people at work are putting on the roof which is two and a half hectares. It has six layers of insulation and waterproofing that is why it is taking a while because it is a megaproject, said Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy (executive pastor of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ).
KJC King Dome is located in Diversion Road, Buhangin District, Davao City, Southern Philippines.
The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, (officially the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, Inc.) is a Philippine-based Restorationist church.
It was founded by Quiboloy, who claims to be the “Anointed Son of God” in 1985. The members of the congregation refer to their community as a “Kingdom Nation.” It was separated from United Pentecostal Church International.
It has about 6 million members.
