Rayagada, Jan 29, 2020: Two women were assaulted brutally on the suspicion of practicing witchcraft in Rayagada Town in Odisha state.
The injured have been identified as Galama Muduli and Sabita Dani. Both of the women are currently undergoing treatment at District Headquarters Hospital.
According to reports, one man identified as Santosh Dani died of paralysis a few days ago. However, the family members of the man suspected witchcraft behind his death.
On January 28, a group of people assaulted both the women. Police have started an investigation after getting a formal complaint. Adequate police force has been deployed at the village to prevent any further untoward incident, the administration said.
