New Delhi, March 2, 2020: Caritas India, the social service wing of Catholic Bishops, will hold a National Volunteers Conference for Catholic youth for social impact at the end of March in Delhi.
The March 27 to 29 events will take place at Shofar Convention Center with the theme: “National Change Leaders Campaign – A beginning 2020.”
“Volunteering is the commitment of time and energy for the benefits of society and the community: the environment or individuals outside one’s immediate family. It is undertaken freely and by choice without expectations of any benefits,” said Father Paul Moonjely, executive director of Caritas.
According to him, ‘Volunteering’ is one of its key strategic pillars. Joined to this transformational journey of creating social impact, Caritas India is pledged to identity, engage and retain social change agents as volunteers.
At least four committed, strong and opinionated youth leaders from each diocese across the country along with their youth director/animator are to be part of this convention.
Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) Youth Commission is to collaborate with Caritas India in hosting this conference.
“The youth would be initiating and steering a nationwide campaign post the convention with their respective dioceses to drive a visible change t to the large community that we are part of,” said Father Moonjely.
