Lucknow, July 14, 2020: Lucknow girl Divyanshi Jain scored 600 marks out of 600 to get 100 percent marks in the 12th grade examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
The 18-year-old did not lose a single mark in any of her six subjects when the results were declared on July 13.
“This is unbelievable. I am elated and surprised at the same time,” said the student of Navyug Radiance Senior Secondary School with a big smile.
She scored a 100 in English, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Insurance and Economics.
Divyanshi appeared for the exam of all subjects except Geography, which was cancelled due to Covid-19. She was also among the toppers at her school and had scored 97 percent marks.
Second child of a businessman father and a homemaker mother, Divyanshi gave the credit of her success to her parents and teachers.
“My teachers guided me throughout the year and I was able to follow a systematic routine due to my parents. Both these factors allowed me to concentrate on my studies and score good marks,” said Divyanshi.
“I also made it a point to focus on revision and mock tests that helped me to score better,” she added. She also gave ample time to sleep and followed a healthy routine.
A history buff, she wants to pursue the subject for her further studies. “I want to study history further. I have applied for admissions in BA (H) History at Delhi University,” said Divyanshi.
She also says she also wants to learn more about the country’s past. “I want to give this message that it is not compulsory to score maximum marks. What is important is to give your 100 percent. I used to study from NCERT books. In the future, I would like to do research in history as a subject and learn more about our country`s past,” she said.
Divyanshi’s parents said that they are proud of their daughter. “I am very happy that she topped the CBSE examination. We were hoping that she will top in her school, but now we are very happy that she topped all India. We are very supportive of her and will support her further studies,” said Rajesh Prakash Jain her father.

Divanshi’s elder sister Shreyanshi Jain said,” It is her determination and hard work that gave her the results. I used to clear her doubts and help her in her studies.”
