Patna, Aug 29, 2020: Time has come for people to prepare for a post Covid-19 era where physical interactions would give way to virtual contact, a human resources expert told a webinar.

“The process of hand-holding and pulse reading will not be there,” Tejinder Singh Bedi, who is also a freelance writer, told the August 28 webinar on ‘People Management and Communication in 21st Century’ organized by St Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna, capital of Bihar state in eastern India.

In post Covid days, communication would have to be made through mind and soul, Bedi said and added that the new era would demand a highly decentralized human resource functions.

He called upon people management and communication leaders to adapt to the changing technologies to keep pace with global challenges in the 21st century.

Describing Covid-19 as a “non-invasive surgical strike forcing us to adapt to new normal,” Bedi said major human resource functions would be conducted online in the days to come.

“With everything shifting to online process, e-HR management could also become a reality,” he added.

Earlier college Principal Jesuit Father T Nishaant welcomed the resource person and introduced him to a virtual gathering of about 180 people.

Father Nishaant said the workplace, whether an educational institute or a corporate office, must instill a freedom and creativity in its employees so that they could deliver their best.
