Georgia: A restaurant owner in the US state of Georgia was inspired by Jesus’ example at Easter to offer a job to a burglar who broke in into his diner over the weekend.

“To the would be robber who is clearly struggling with life decisions or having money issues… please swing by for a job application”, Carl Wallace wrote on a Facebook post which included his personal mobile number and pictures of the restaurant’s smashed doors.

“There are better opportunities out there than this path you’ve chosen,” the Facebook post reads.

“Let’s sit down and talk about how we could help you and fix the road you’re on. Sincerely Carl.”

The man broke into Diablo’s Southwest Grill on April 3 at around 4am and left empty-handed as Wallace told local media the cash machine the man had taken was empty.

During an interview with Sky news, Wallace said that his first reactions were anger and frustration but that he was inspired to think of a “better response” in view of it being the Easter weekend.

“What would Jesus do? Would Jesus have somebody locked up or would he offer forgiveness?

“We all as humans have to have a level of forgiveness to each other and try to find a better way because there’s so much hate in this world… we don’t understand each other’s problems and challenges in life.”

Wallace has not heard back from the robber.

  1. Amazing guy this Carl! A far cry from Pastors in certain US churches calling the Police to arrest pregnant mothers and old Foster Mothers for entering/praying in church without masks. Yes, what would Jesus have done……?
