Dhaka, Nov. 6, 2021: A two-month free Spoken English online course for indigenous students of Bangladesh, India and Nepal concluded November 5.

Around 40 people attended the course conducted by some former students of Salesian College in Sonada, West Bengal, and Don Bosco University Guwahati, Assam.

The course that began September 10 comprised 18 theory classes and 16 interactive practical sessions.

Program director Sergio Hembrom and his team from Chandpukur Shantiraj Jubo Songo divided the students into two types of classes – theory and practical.

The teachers who conducted the theory classes were Salesian College Sonada alumni Ashan Batepola from Sri Lanka, and Sergio Hembrom from Bangladesh; and a student of Ranchi University Neelam Tudu from India.

The practical sessions held thrice a week were handled by Priss Evngeline Mardi Student of Don Bosco University, Assam and Santina Murmu alumna of Salesian St. Anthony’s College, Shillong and Salesian alumna Roshni Lepcha from India.

The closing ceremony was held online November 5 with Sonada College vice principal Salesian Father C M Paul.

Hembrom hosted the program while theology student and Salesian alumnus Brother Priyankan Mark from Sri Lanka conducted oral examinations.
