Kochi, August 16, 2025 — For years, eight-year-old Aarav carried more than a school bag; he carried the quiet burden of being misunderstood. Labeled “inattentive” and “slow,” he struggled with frustration and confusion in a system that didn’t know how to reach him. But within weeks of joining SJ Procedo, a specialized learning center in Ernakulam, a remarkable change began. Aarav started reading with newfound confidence, solving math problems with joy, and, most importantly, smiling more freely. As his mother shared through tears, “He’s not afraid of learning anymore. He’s found a place where he’s seen.”
This transformative work is at the heart of SJ Procedo, a center founded in 2015 by special educator and counsellor Suni Jolly. The center is a sanctuary for children who have been overlooked or misdiagnosed due to learning differences. It operates on a simple, powerful principle: learning must be personalized.
Instead of rigid, one-size-fits-all models, each child receives a tailored Individual Learning Plan (ILP). This plan addresses specific challenges while building on the child’s unique strengths. The focus is on foundational skills like reading, writing, and comprehension, with specialized remediation in subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science.
Over the past decade, some 500 students have found support at SJ Procedo, both in person and online. They arrive after years of feeling “less than” their peers.
“Before SJ Procedo, my son was constantly anxious about school,” says Anjali Menon, a parent. “Within months, I saw a change—not just in his academics, but in his spirit. He started asking questions, volunteering answers, and even helping younger children. The center didn’t just teach him—it believed in him.”
What is ‘SJ Procedo’? – SJ stands for Suni Jolly, the founder, “procedo” in Latin means “to move forward,” “to advance,” or “to proceed.” Hence, “SJ Procedo” could mean “Suni Jolly’s Way Forward” or “Suni Jolly’s Progress,” which aligns perfectly with the center’s mission of helping children with learning disabilities move forward academically and personally.
Suni Jolly’s unique, interdisciplinary approach is key to this success. A qualified special educator, she also integrates modalities like Gestalt therapy, NLP, and Jolly Phonics. This allows her to look beyond academic profiles to address the emotional and psychological dimensions that often accompany learning difficulties.
Beyond her work with children, Suni has made a significant impact by training others. She developed a six-week course on learning disabilities for special educators and parents, providing practical, compassionate strategies for assessment and classroom support. This has helped create a network of more empathetic and effective advocates for inclusive education.
During the pandemic, SJ Procedo expanded its reach with a permanent hybrid model, offering online sessions to families across India. This flexibility allows children to learn at their own pace, free from the pressure of keeping up with a class.
As one parent, Dr. Priya George, shared, “We were told our daughter might never cope in a regular classroom. SJ Procedo gave her dignity. Today, she reads fluently and even mentors a younger child online.”
Suni’s message is consistent: learning differences are not indicators of intelligence. They simply require different methods. In a country where inclusive education is still evolving, SJ Procedo stands as a powerful model. It proves that with the right interventions, children once labeled as underachievers can thrive—not just academically, but emotionally and spiritually.
Looking forward, SJ Procedo aims to deepen its partnerships with schools and strengthen its training programs. Yet, its core mission remains unchanged: to ensure that no child’s potential is missed simply because their learning didn’t fit the conventional mold. As Suni Jolly reflects on the breakthroughs she witnesses, she attributes them to a higher power, approaching her work with faith at its heart.
Through SJ Procedo, Suni Jolly has built more than a center for remediation. She has created a sanctuary where education is redefined—as individual, compassionate, and deeply respectful of every learner’s journey.

Suni mam is one of the most inspiring educators I’ve met. She is the founder of SJ Procedo and also my mentor who inspired me to become an independent educator. I attended the Learning Disability course under her guidance, and it completely changed the way I look at supporting children. Excellent initiative
There are several children out there who get discriminated against and bullied for being different. SJ Procedo is a sanctuary for children with learning issues to share their difficulties, get help and assistance, and learn at their own pace.
